About

At NEOGEN, we succeed together.

It started in 1982

Scientific innovations blossoming out of Michigan State University needed an avenue to reach the people who could use them to better the world — solutions searching for problems. The university reached out to the men who would become NEOGEN’s founders, Ted Doan and James Herbert, and soon after, the company was born.

What started as a small team that held organization-wide meetings in a single hallway in Lansing, Michigan expanded into new industries and new states, soon reaching across one ocean, then another. Along the way, our goal solidified: to partner with our customers, farm to fork, to elevate the world’s level of food and animal safety.

Today, we’re achieving that by providing solutions for a vast array of needs all along the food supply chain. It doesn’t matter the business segment, field or industry — we offer tools our customers use to make their products stronger and safer, while growing their businesses and protecting their brands. We do so across the globe, with teams stationed in 12 countries and a sales presence in more than 140.

To partner with our customers and elevate the world's level of human, food and animal safety.

With sound science, we have built the most holistic portfolio in human, food and animal safety technology. And while we can depend on our science, our customers can depend on our team to provide them the resources and services needed to deliver to their customers reliable and robust results.
